Agaris Grow Bags – A new way of growing tomatoes and strawberries

The Agaris Grow Bag was introduced as a more cost-effective and sustainable alternative to conventional inert substrates. The mat is suitable for growing various types of greenhouse fruit and vegetables, like tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers and strawberries.

The Agaris Grow Bag consists of 100% natural organic materials. Thanks to the unique composition of the substrate and its excellent physical, chemical and microbial properties, growers have observed multiple advantages when using the Agaris Grow Bag:

  • More resilient plants to diseases, like crazy roots and root rot diseases, thanks to the presence of indigenous micro-organisms
  • Optimum symbiosis between substrate and roots, with more fine roots allowing for optimum nutrient uptake
  • High buffering capacity
  • Less blossom end rot on tomatoes
  • Better taste
  • Higher yield

Moreover, the organic Grow Bag also creates the opportunity for the grower to mix-in beneficial microorganisms (hortiviv), resulted in yet better and more resilient plants. The substrates are stable and may be used over two consecutive growing seasons, reducing in this way the purchase and labour costs.

Different sizes of Grow Bags are available ranging from a length of 40cm to 120cm. Depending on the wishes of the customer, we can produce bags with different numbers of plant holes, perforated at different distances.

Investigation of the environmental impact of the Agaris Grow Bags has shown that these organic substrates have a lower impact than more conventional growing media. After its use as greenhouse substrate, the spent substrates are composted into soil improvers, allowing to fully close the cycle.
